We determine precisely, we don't guess

One of the most important parameters when buying and selling used vehicles is their price. Whether the buy-in price (if you are a professional who needs to know the value at purchase) or the real selling price on the market (the price the car can actually be sold for, i.e. its true value).

At veescan.com we focus on analysing the used-vehicle market across Europe. We have a detailed overview of it: 15 markets and over 50 metrics. And the price of a vehicle is one of them.

Our online calculation (determining the value of a used vehicle) lets you find out the market value of a used car instantly. We don't guess the real selling price — we determine it precisely.

What we can do

We can not only determine the price of specific vehicles, but also monitor them automatically and compare them with one another across selected markets. And all of this in the form of a clear graphical display — by individual country, with estimates of both the current and future value of used vehicles. In short, a faster and more precise process. If needed, client-side implementation via API is no problem either.

Setting selling and buy-in prices

We know the current value of any car, and also how much it will eventually sell for. The price in listings is one thing, the actual sale is another. And we also know how long similar cars take to sell.

Vehicle price map

As a bonus we offer a price map of used cars, where in one place you can clearly see where a given car sits with its price. One look and everything is clear.

Comparing used-car prices

We can compare the prices of specific vehicles and a specific model across countries, and also over time (loss of value). Our specialty is comparison in the neighbouring countries: SK, PL, CZ.

Residual value trend and prediction

Thanks to our data we can also work out the historical price development of a specific used vehicle. Both retrospectively and into the future, as a prediction of residual value. And across countries too. Our specialty is comparison in the neighbouring countries: SK, PL, CZ.

How do we determine the prices and market value of used vehicles?

For used-vehicle prices we don't rely on tables with a predetermined theoretical depreciation. The market reacts differently over time. In our calculations we primarily start from the real and current situation on the used-vehicle market. Our prices reflect what is happening at that moment — the true market value of vehicles. On top of that, we don't look only at advertised prices, but also at the prices the cars were actually sold for.

What affects the final price of a used vehicle?

The real value or selling price of a used vehicle is the sum of several factors. For example:

The make and model of the vehicle — some hold their residual value better than others.

The number of kilometres driven — sorry, declared — still the single most important figure for a large share of buyers.

Country of origin — cars from the local market hold their price better in that country, as well as their liquidity at sale.

Service history — even in the technological era of the 21st century, not all makes have a traceable service history across countries.

The actual condition of the vehicle — one of the few things you can verify online only with great difficulty.
